Chenese will be a panelist on the “Body Image in Comics and Cosplay” panel discussion at the Mid City Micro-Con: Welcome to Wakanda!
Prepare for the release of Marvel’s Black Panther at the Mid City Micro-Con, a program celebrating diversity in comic book characters, creators, and their fans! With a Black Panther theme, the event will highlight a range of voices in comics and fandom with discussion panels, a comics & arts market, cosplay, workshops, film screenings, games, and prizes! Special guests include the creators of Tuskegee Heirs, comic artist and illustrator Marcus Williams and children’s book author Greg Burnham; prolific comic book inker Roland Paris, who has worked on Marvel and DC titles, including the 2008 Black Panther annual; and many more professionals and experts from the comics and cosplay communities. Join guests for discussions of their work, as well as special topics such as diversity, body image, and comics in Louisiana. There will also be a cosplay competition for teens and adults. All attendees are invited to cosplay for the event.
